What is awarded?

The AAP Foundation's E. Bud Tarrson Research Award in Oral Plastic Surgery was created to support and encourage periodontal research in oral plastic surgery. This is a $1,000 award for the best paper on clinical oral plastic surgery published in a peer-reviewed journal during the year prior to award selection.

Who is eligible?

At least one of the paper's researchers must be a periodontist or a periodontal postgraduate student. A preliminary list of candidates will be prepared from a review of all literature in the field published during the year prior to award selection.

How Do Candidates Apply?

No application required.

What is the selection process?

The Foundation Board makes the selection from a list of finalists recommended by a three-person committee appointed by the AAP Foundation president. The award, along with a plaque or certificate, will be presented at the AAP Annual Meeting.
